On the occasion of the late actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s 28th death anniversary on Friday, his family paid homage to him at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. Along with the family members, the death anniversary was attended by MLA Maganti Gopinath, Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary T Prasanna Kumar, FNCC Secretary Mohan Mullapudi, and ex-Corporator Kaja Suryanarayana.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s son, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, and grandsons Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram paid their respects. With their hands folded in prayer, they presented flowers. The family was seen visiting NTR Ghat early on Thursday in honour of the late actor.

As per reports, on their grandfather’s birthday and death anniversary, Jr. NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram go to the NTR Gardens every year to honour their grandfather. This year was no different.
Meanwhile, speaking on this occasion, MLA Maganti Gopinath said, “The immortal great leader Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao emerged as the king of the film industry and stood as an unrivalled man in the film industry and politics. Every Telugu takes pride in paying tribute to him after his 28-year physical absence. As long as there are Telugu people in India, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao will always be remembered with great respect. NTR is a person who always thinks of others. On the other hand, it is a source of pride that the programs he introduced are now being carried out nationwide.”
He further said that they have decided to celebrate NTR’s birth anniversary on May 28 in a grand manner every year.
Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary Prasanna Kumar said, “NTR is an immortal great man. He is the only person who rejected every offer and stood up for the Telugu nation. It is a matter of pride for every Telugu person that this event is happening on this day, as we are proud of him.” In the end, he also thanked Kaja Suryanarayana, Maganti Gopinath, Nandamuri Mohan Krishna, Nandamuri Mohana Rupa and Bhaskar Naidu for attending this special event.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) was a legendary actor, filmmaker and politician. He served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. In addition, he starred in 300 movies and won three National Awards. He died on January 18, 1996, at his Hyderabad residence.
