Rajinikanth-starrer Lal Salaam Release Date Postponed? What We Know

Lal Salaam, directed by superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth has left fans super excited. The makers had earlier announced that the movie will be released on Pongal 2024, but looks like fans will have to wait for some more time. The release got postponed and it is now slated for a release in the next month. The audience has been anticipating the release of Lal Salaam ever since its announcement. But, due to undisclosed reasons, the movie – which was set to grace the silver screens this week – will now be released on February 9. The production house took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the recent development and also shared a new poster. “Namma Ther Thiruvuzha’ku Alappara kelappa neram vandhachu! Lal Salaam hits the big screen on February 9th 2024! Save the date!” The post reveals the date February 9 and reads, “in cinemas worldwide.”

While fans were a little disheartened, many showered the team with much love and praise. A user wrote, “Cool! Wow, best wishes to the entire team.” Another wrote, “February 9th is our Pongal celebration.” A fan commented, “Can’t wait to see Moideen Bhai on February 9.” An individual posted, “Good, solo release date.”

Why the makers chose to opt out of the Pongal race remains unknown. Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Dhanush’s Captain Miller are all set to lock horns at the box office this Pongal. There are speculations that the lead actors of these two movies have some kind of tiff and hence the respective fandoms are at loggerheads with each other on the social media platforms. The expectations from both movies are high and only time will tell who ultimately wins the box office race for Pongal.

Lal Salaam will feature superstar Rajinikanth in a cameo. The film revolves around cricket and focuses on the politics of this sport. Musical maestro A R Rahman has composed music for Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s movie. The movie will also feature Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the movie.
