Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini died on Thursday, January 25. She was 47 when she breathed her last in Sri Lanka.

Two days after Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini passed away, the veteran music composer took to his X handle to remember her. On Friday evening, Ilaiyaraaja shared a throwback photo with his late daughter from her childhood days. In the black and white picture, the father was seen showing something to his daughter in a book. He was seen wearing a kurta along with his headphones.

In the caption of his emotional post, Ilaiyaraaja wrote “Dear daughter” in Tamil. Check out his post here:

Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini died on Thursday, January 25. She was 47 when she breathed her last in Sri Lanka. As per a report by Hindustan Times, Bhavatharini travelled from India to Sri Lanka for treatment. Despite undergoing Ayurvedic therapy for five months, her health did not improve, and sadly, she passed away at 5:20 PM on Thursday. Her mortal remains were brought back to Chennai on Friday.

At the age of 47, she was a prominent figure in the film industry, contributing her voice to numerous popular songs in over 30 films. Her untimely death has sent shockwaves through the entire entertainment world.

Among others, Kamal Haasan also paid tribute to Bhavatharini and confessed he doesn’t know how to console his brother, Ilaiyaraaja. “My heart aches. I don’t know how to console my beloved brother Ilaiyaraaja. I will hold his hands through this. Bhavatharini’s death cannot be tolerated or accepted. Ilaiyaraaja shouldn’t give up dealing with this huge loss. My heartfelt condolences to Bhavatharini’s family,” the actor wrote in Tamil on X.

Making her debut as a playback singer in the film “Rasayya,” Bhavatharini achieved recognition as the song from the movie became a massive hit. She continued to lend her voice to musical compositions created by her father and brothers, and she also collaborated with artists like Deva and Sirpi.
