Darshan-starrer much-anticipated Kannada film Kaatera was released in theaters on December 29, 2023. According to reports, the film has been doing well since day one and had a grand opening. Since then, Kaatera has been showing house-full shows everywhere.
The film collected Rs 9.24 crore on the 5th day (Tuesday), taking its total to Rs 86 crore since its release.
Kaatera is likely to enter the Rs 100 crore club soon.
After seeing the response of the viewers in the theatres in a recent media interaction, Darshan said that he was overwhelmed to see the way the film has been received by fans.
Kaatera, directed by Tharun Sudhir and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, marks the debuts of Aradhana Ram and Jagapathi Babu. Set in an agricultural backdrop of Hampi during the 1970s, the film delves into the societal issues of the time.
Vaijanath Biradar, Shruti, and Kumar Govind played the supporting roles in the film exclusively released in Kannada. The nearly three-hour movie is said to be based on a true story set in a rural milieu.
Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, Rockline Venkatesh, the producer of Kaatera, has arranged a red carpet event in Bangalore’s Orion Mall at 6 PM on Wednesday. The event is likely to be attended by notable names in the Kannada industry and the technical crew of the film.
On the first day of the release of Kaatera, people attended midnight and 5 am shows, indicating the fervour surrounding the film. Theatres, hosting 6 to 7 shows each, reported sold-out screenings, reflecting the heightened demand.
The movie opened in more than 550 theatres, but demand is likely to cause this number to increase.
