Actress Suma Kanakala Plans Special Initiative To Help Telugu Film Journalists
The Telugu Film Journalists’ Association (TFJA) insurance fund will receive a donation of Rs 5 lakh under this initiative.

The charitable organisation, Festivals For Joy (FFJ) was founded in 2021 by well-known anchor and actress Suma Kanakala. Since the auspicious occasion of Dasara, it has been relentlessly promoting the community’s well-being. Its emphasis on helping women from the film business, who experienced difficulties supporting themselves during Covid-19 pandemic, is especially notable. Together with providing these women with new opportunities for employment, Festivals For Joy and the NGO Prajwala also met some of their basic requirements, such as food supplies. Festivals For Joy is celebrating its two-year anniversary this year. The organisation is dedicated to giving festivals a purpose and encouraging beneficial outcomes through it. Ahead of the New Year, Suma Kanakala has announced her new initiative. With great excitement, Suma announced FFJ’s partnership with the Telugu Film Journalists’ Association (TFJA) and the North America Telugu Society (NATS).

The news that FFJ and NATS are bringing a long-held desire – of providing insurance facilities for underprivileged journalists – to reality was conveyed by Suma. NATS is donating Rs 5 lakh to the Telugu Film Journalists’ Association (TFJA) insurance fund, which provides accident and health insurance to members and their families.

Suma conveyed her appreciation to NATS organisers for assisting film journalists and their families by participating in her project. When asked what motivated her to support journalists and offer insurance services, Suma said that her friends in the Journalists Association had taught her about the difficulties that they confront. Suma expressed her worry for family members, noting that they are constantly at the forefront of her thoughts, acknowledging that TFJA has over 400 members when family members are included. TFJA also disclosed that, during the previous three years, they have been putting a lot of effort into developing a variety of insurance plans and offering insurance facilities to the members.

NATS Vice President, Madan Pamulapati said, “Nats will also be a part of the Seva programs in both the Telugu states. We provide construction of school buildings for students, Anganwadi centres, old age homes, and purifiers for providing drinking water. We are conducting these service programs in association with Telugu organisations like Gokul Achchana Organization for Weaker Section and Festival for Joy. I would like to thank Suma Kanakala for making us a part of this.”
