Trouble is mounting for Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki as out of 26 MLAs who were in supporting him, 14 more have turned dissident. Sources said Nabam Tuki can be replaced by dissident leader Kalikho Pul.

Thirty four of the 60 MLAs voted against the Tuki government and elected Kalikho Pul as their leader. The dissidents MLAs supported by BJP are likely to meet the Governor in the evening and apprise him of the situation.

The political turmoil continues in Arunachal Pradesh with the Deputy Speaker on Thursday holding the Assembly Session in a hotel close to the Assembly. But Tuki, his ministers and MLAs who were supporting him did not take part and called it unconstitutional.

On Wednesday, the session was held in a community hall. This happened as the government ordered a magistrate to keep the Assembly locked after which the Governor told them to go ahead with the Session in a community centre.

In the Assembly session conducted on Wednesday the Speaker was removed, but he claims that he continues to be in the chair as he was removed unconstitutionally.

Now the opposition wants to bring a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister. The security has been increased in the area and prohibitory orders being given in the vicinity of the Assembly.

The Congress is alleging that the Governor is trying to topple the government and he is getting instructions from the BJP government at the Centre. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has already met President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday regarding the issue.

CM Tuki has written to the Prime Minister and President about Governor's interference.

What's your reaction?
