New Delhi: The TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu walked out of the National Integration Council (NIC) meet on Monday. Chandrababu was not allowed to raise the issue of Telangana statehood in the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He insisted on speaking about Telangana. When his attempts failed, he staged a walk-out.
The TDP is facing a tough challenge in both Seemandhra and Telangana in the coming Lok Sabha and AP Assembly polls.
Chandrababu has been camping in the national capital meeting the third front leaders. He has also met the BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Saturday. The meeting can also be seen as possible tie-up between BJP and TDP. He also called the Congress as its first enemy.
He said that there was no point in participating in the NIC meeting as the government is not ready to listen to him. He said, "I was talking and was interrupted midway by Home Minister and UPA chief as they started saying no."
He said, "One state is burning because of so many things that has been done for political gains. What is going on in the Centre is what I was asking." He added that people are loosing faith in democracy.
