Chandigarh: Problems for senior Akali Dal leader Sukhir Singh Badal ahead of the Assembly elections. An IAS officer has alleged that Badal tried to frame him in a corruption case in 2009 for not paying him Rs 1 crore as bribe. IAS officer V K Janjua says he has also filed a case against Badal and others in a Chandigarh court in this connection.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Monday, Janjua claimed the court has admitted the case and has even ordered investigations in the case. Presently, Janjua works as a Director in the Service Welfare Department. He was Director, Industries when Sukhbir Singh Badal allegedly asked for the Rs 1 crore bribe.
It should be noted that Janjua was arrested in 2009 in the same case. He however defended himself by saying he has enough evidence of being innocent.
