New Delhi: If you go to buy pulses, the sky-rocketing prices might force you skip a heartbeat. The price of pulses have been rising steadily across India. Be it a humble Dal – Roti or Sambar – Rice, pulses are a must. Without them, one can’t make food anywhere in India. The price of most pulses have crossed Rs 100 and some cost nearly Rs 200 per one kilo.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being ridiculed and is facing the flak on social media for the rising prices. Price of pulses have set off a flood of jokes on social media. Taking a dig at Modi, 'Unofficial: Subramaniam Swamy' has shared an old video in which Modi is talking about how to bring the prices of pulses down.

A joke being circulated via WhatsApp goes like this - Modi has achieved something by equalling the price of both Pulses and Dry fruits, which Congress could not achieve in 60 years.
Another one says - A patient was taken to a doctor directly from a market. Doctors who examined him declared him dead saying that there was no ‘Pulse’.
Before 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi took on the Congress-led UPA government on inflation, promising that he will bring the prices of all food items and essential commodities down once voted to power. It seems his own unrealistic promises have now returned to haunt him.
After he came to power in May 2014, the Prime Minister had conveyed that he wants to know the pulse of the people. Surely, he has now realised that he has no finger on the ‘pulse’ of the people!
