Delhi: With the BJP all set to form a government in Haryana and leading by a huge margin in Maharashtra, party leaders have started to credit Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the good show.
Ironically, in the last Assembly elections, BJP had managed to win only 4 seats in Haryana where this time the party is likely to win more than 45 seats in the 90-member state assembly. On the other hand, in Maharashtra the Modi wave has led the party to become the single largest.
"People believe in Prime MInister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP)," the BJP's spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
Other BJP leaders said that it was evident that the Modi wave had propelled the party to power. "It is PM Modi's popularity that has created this impact," they said.
