Omar Abdullah says talks of repealing Article 370 'irresponsible'
"Mark my words & save this tweet - long after Modi Govt is a distant memory either J&K won't be part of India or Art 370 will still exist", he tweeted.

New Delhi: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reacted strongly to the statements made by MoS, PMO on repealing Article 370 in the state. He condemned the move saying, "Mark my words & save this tweet - long after Modi government is a distant memory either J&K won't be part of India or Art 370 will still exist" on Twitter.

Just hours after Narendra Modi took charge as the Prime Minister, the MoS PMO, Jitendra Singh came out with a controversial statement on the Article 370. Singh said that the government had started speaking to stakeholders to repeal the Act. "The process of repealing Article 370 has started. We are speaking to the stakeholders," he said.

Abdullah, an ally of UPA, who has been opposing the idea of repealing Article 370, said it was an irresponsible move by the new government.

"So the new MOS PMO says process/discussions to revoke Art 370 have started. Wow, that was a quick beginning. Not sure who is talking.Mark my words & save this tweet - long after Modi Govt is a distant memory either J&K won't be part of India or Art 370 will still exist.Art 370 is the ONLY constitutional link between J&K & rest of India. Talk of revocation of not just ill informed it's irresponsible," tweeted Abdullah.
