The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Wednesday chose Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader, setting the stage for him to return as the PM for the record third term. The alliance leaders held a crucial meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence to discuss details on the formation of the government.

As per the resolution , the alliance said, “We all are proud that NDA fought and won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections unitedly under the leadership of respected Shri Narendra Modi ji. We all unanimously choose respected NDA leader Shri Narendra Modi as our leader.”
The resolution further read, “Under the leadership of Shri Modi ji, the NDA government is committed to serving the poor women, youth, farmers and exploited, deprived and suffering citizens of India. The NDA government will continue to work towards improving the standard of living of the people of India by preserving the heritage of India and for the all-round development of the country.”
Among the prominent leaders attending the meeting were TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U) leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan.
The TDP, JD(U), Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the LJP (Ram Vilas) who won 16, 12, seven and five seats respectively will play an important role in the government formation.
Sources said National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders are expected to formally repose their faith in Modi’s leadership and that MPs of the coalition’s constituents may meet in a couple of days to elect him as their leader.
