Modi is a coward, I am not: Digvijaya on relationship with TV anchor
Rai has filed a police complaint alleging hacking of her email account and posting of malicious content on social media.

New Delhi: Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Thursday hit back at his critics saying that he was not a coward and had no qualms in accepting his relationship with a married TV journalist.

Digvijaya who stroked a controversy when he publically accepted his relationship with a woman anchor after photographs of the two surfaced on social networking platforms, was being compared to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi who for the first time acknowledged Jashodaben as his wife after over 40 years of their marriage while filing his nomination papers.

Speaking to media persons, Digvijaya called Modi a coward for keeping his marriage under the covers for all these years. "I don't hide my relationship, which Mr Modi does. I am absolutely clear in this. I am not a coward, which Mr Narendra Mod unfortunately is," he said.

Finance Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram refused to comment on the matter saying, "I don't comment on anyone's private life, be it of my party or any other political party."

In a tweet Digvijaya on Wednesday said: "I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case."

He had also tweeted that once Amrita Rai's divorce is finalised, they would formalise the relationship. "Once that is decided we would formalise it. But I do condemn encroachment in our private life," anther tweet from him said.

Digvijaya Singh has lost his wife a year ago. Recently (on April 11), he had tweeted leading to speculations that he may be thinking about marrying again. He had tweeted: "I am a widower and if I remarry I won't hide like your Dear Feku!"
