New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government will present its second General Budget on February 28 while the Economic Survey will be out a day earlier on February 27. The Railway Budget will be unveiled on February 26, four days after the start of Parliament's Budget Session.

The session will start on February 23 and continue till March 20 after which there will be a recess till April 19. The session will resume from April 20 till May 8.

With the economic situation showing signs of improvement, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is likely to present a growth oriented budget focussing on industrial revival, job creation and boosting the agricultural sector.

With President Pranab Mukherjee voicing his objection to the 'Ordinance route', the Central government is planning to introduce the recent ordinances as Bills in the Budget Session. Sources say if the government fails to pass them in Rajya Sabha were it does not enjoy a majority, a joint session of Parliament may be called.

The Modi government has issued at least 8 ordinances so far including the one to raise FDI in insurance and e-auction of coal mines.
