Modi government is scam-free, BJP will revoke Article 370 when it gets majority in J&K, says Col Rathore

New Delhi: Article 370 will be in force in Jammu & Kashmir only till the Bharatiya Janata Party does not form a majority government in the state, said Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel (Retired) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. The article guarantees special status to Jammu & Kashmir and would be revoked once the BJP manages to form government on its own in the state.

Addressing Modi Sarkar Year One Dialogue organised by Network18 in New Delhi he also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government was a corruption free regime.

He said, "Modi won’t do deals. He deals with the issues. He knows how to solve issues." He listed out the achievements of government saying that it is a ‘no leave, non-stop government’.

Lauding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, he said "There are 25 crore families in India. We have opened 15 crore bank accounts. They are not empty accounts. These poor people have deposited Rs 15,000 crore in these accounts."

He criticised the previous UPA government for compromising national interest. Rathore said, “Under them defence forces had no new arms and ammunitions. Either they were into scams or took no decision out of fear. We have placed orders for Rs 1 lakh crore defence equipments."

India will soon produce defence equipments and also export them in future, he added. He also said that the Modi government has made Coal and Spectrum auction transparent and raised lakhs of crores.

Former Union minister and Congress leader RPN Singh countered Rathore saying that Modi government has no substance. He took a dig at Rathore for making indirect references to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
