Fadnavis Scraps Rs 6000 Crore Irrigation Projects, Ajit Pawar Under Scanner
National Congress Party leader, Majid Memon told CNN-News 18 that this step is politically motivated. "Presently CBI, anti-corruption branch or such other agencies are working at the tune of their political masters," Memon said.

The Maharashtra Government led by Devendra Fadnavis has scrapped irrigation contracts worth Rs 6000 crore that were sanctioned by congress-NCP alliance when they were in power. These include as many as 300 projects which are under probe.

The BJP led government claims it to be a part of its crackdown on corruption, although the NCP calls it a conspiracy and questions Fadnavis government's silence over the matter till now.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has come under scrutiny, however, the chargesheet filed by the Thane anti-corruption Bureau doesn't mention his name in the list of 10 people allegedly involved in the irregularities.

National Congress Party leader, Majid Memon told CNN-News 18 that this step is politically motivated. "Presently CBI, anti-corruption branch or such other agencies are working at the tune of their political masters," Memon said.

"So this is an entirely politically motivated exercise and as far as legality and factuality is concerned, we have heard about this irrigation scam for the past several years. Why was Fadnavis govt quiet for the past 2 years and why have they suddenly taken it up now, ask the CM and the concerned people if this is not a purely political vendetta," asked Memon.
