DMK leader MK Stalin banned for entering Madurai by city council

Madurai: The Madurai city council has passed a resolution barring DMK treasurer MK Stalin from entering the city later in September.

Stalin, who has been visiting various towns in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2016 Assembly elections, is scheduled to arrive in Madurai on September 25.

The council meeting, attended by AIADMK councillors, passed the resolution noting Stalin's meeting would cause traffic disruptions and disturbance in Madurai.

Stalin is the political heir of his father and DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi. Madurai is a stronghold of his elder brother Alagiri.
