Thiruvananthapuram: The Aam Aadmi Party leaders in Kerala have condemned Kumar Vishwas's statement, but at the same time feel that those scared of the AAP are ransacking their office. The nurses association does not want anything short of an apology from Vishwas and protests will be intensified if their demand is not met. The Youth Congress wants Delhi Chief Minister AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to react to this issue and to take action against Vishwas.
BR Suresh Kumar, State executive committee member of the AAP, said that they are condemning the statement made by Kumar Vishwas. But it was something that happened about five years back when he was a satirist. The national leaders are apprised of the situation there. He added that the Congress feels that its rating among the people is going down and that must have forced the Youth Congress to attack their party office.
Shakkir, district president of the United Nurses Association said that they want nothing short of an apology from Kumar Vishwas. He said, "He has insulted the nurses and made remarks that were racist and sexual. We are strongly condemning this and will go ahead with protests if he does not apologize and call back the statement. The party should first take broom against such people."
Dean Kuriakose, State Youth Congress President stated that they want Arvind Kejriwal to respond to this and action should be taken against Kumar Vishwas. He added that they are also not supporting violence of any kind even if it is by their workers.
On Monday evening, the Youth Congress workers barged into the AAP office in Kochi. They threw rotten eggs and damaged the phones, chairs and the glass cabin. The Mahila Congress workers have also held a protest march in Kochi. The united Nurses association issued a legal notice to Kumar Vishwas asking him to apologize to the nursing community.
