New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is yet again on the roads to protest against Narendra Modi government's one year in power. Over 200 party workers have gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government of interfering in Delhi's governance. The party is also opposing the NDA's flagship Land Acquisition Amendment Bill.

Meanwhile, the AAP government is likely to adopt a resolution in the state assembly on Wednesday condemning the Centre's backing of Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. The party been accusing the Modi government of trying to control the Delhi government via the L-G.

The Arvind Kejriwal government on Tuesday convened a two-day special session of the Delhi Assembly and adopted the motion to discuss the notification issued by the Home Ministry which called the Lt Governor's powers absolute. Dissecting the notification, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that it was the complete opposite to what was stated in the Constitution.

"The notification also questions Delhi government's power to seek services from bureaucrats, encroaches on powers of Assembly," said Sisodia.

The national capital is witnessing a power tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party government and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung over the appointment, transfer and postings of bureaucrats.
