Itanagar: The ruling Congress in Arunachal Pradesh will announce its candidates for two Lok Sabha seats within two days. AICC General Secretary and in-charge of Congress affairs for the state, N Narayansamy said on Friday that the chances of winning of the candidate would be the main criteria for selection.
He said if the Congress regains both the Lok Sabha seats, it will help the state to get more funds to accelerate the process of development. Narayanswamy called upon the party legislators and independents to "work unitedly" to regain both Lok Sabha seats from the BJP and to bring the Congress back to power in the next Assembly elections due in October next.
The BJP has already re-nominated its two sitting Lok Sabha members Kiren Rijiju for Arunachal West and Tapir Gao Arunachal East. On the reports of "squabbles" within state Congress, Narayanswamy said, "it happens in a big party. We are all family members and we will sort it out."
Narayanswamy's comments came in the wake of recent complaint of former Chief Minister Gegong Apang that he was feeling "isolated" for not being consulted by the Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu on important issues.
