After Inspecting Two Bridges Last Week, Ailing Goa CM Parrikar Chairs Mopa Airport Review Meeting
"The CM conducted an extensive project review of various aspects of the development of the airport. He stressed that various economic and employment related benefits should go to Goans, particularly to the project-affected villages," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Mopa Airport Development Authority (MADA) to review the project work, his office said.

The greenfield airport project is taking shape at Mopa village in North Goa. The first phase of the project is expected to be commissioned in 2020. Parrikar is the Chairman of MADA.

"The CM conducted an extensive project review of various aspects of the development of the airport. He stressed that various economic and employment related benefits should go to Goans, particularly to the project-affected villages," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a press note released here.

Earlier in the day, he also held a meeting of the state Personnel Department and took stock of the vacant posts and promotions in various departments.

The 63-year-old ailing chief minister has been recuperating at his private residence near here.
