New Delhi: Members of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) will form a five-kilometre human chain in Jamshedpur on January 8 to press for the release of their chief Shibu Soren.
The decision was taken at the party's chintan manthan sivir (introspection camp) being held at Dimna on Wednesday.
Party members said that the objective of the campaign is to express solidarity for 'Guruji', as former Union minister Shibu Soren is addressed in Jharkhand.
Soren has been held in Delhi's Tihar Jail ever since he was found guilty of involvement in the murder of his secretary Shashinath Jha 12 years ago.
Thousands of party workers and supporters are expected to participate in the nyay yatra, which is being started in East Singhbhum district.
They claim he was "falsely implicated" in the murder case by political rivals and have decided to continue their state-wide protests in support of Soren's release.
