To positively engage first-time voters in a massive outreach program for the youth, New India Debates has been launched by New India Junction, a youth initiative. The program aims to give young voters an apt context of the country’s situation pre-2013 and to trace India’s success story in the last nine years.

The debates follow a unique concept and format. Each program is shot exclusively in different universities. In each episode, student debaters debate on important national issues like the Uniform Civil Code, mental health, democracy etc. The debate is followed by an interaction with a marquee chief guest in a format that appeals to the youth.

“This is followed by a distinctive interaction led by the chief guest where they deliver a detailed comprehensive presentation aided with a PPT to communicate India’s growth in the last nine years in different domain areas,” a press releae said.

“Unlike delivering long speeches, our line-up of speakers, which includes Union Ministers, MPs, leading entrepreneurs, deliver interactive power point presentations. These presentations are loaded with graphs and data to intellectually engage with students and create an effective two-way channel between speaker and students,” it added.

Distinguished speakers have so far made effective presentations on following topics — ‘India’s Journey from Fragile 5 to Bright 5’, ‘10 Transformations in 10 years’, ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘India’s Rise to Become the Start Up Capital of the World’.

The first season of New India Debates will witness more than 30 episodes being shot at various leading universities in India. In the line-up, episodes have been scheduled at National Law University, Indian institute of Technology, Delhi University, Ashoka University, VELS Group of Institutions, VIT Chennai Campus, Vijaybhoomi University, Shoolini University to name a few.
