Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have announced the list of players they have retained ahead of the auction next month. MI have released 11 players while retaining 17 (including Romario Shepherd who joined the team in a trading window) before entering the IPL mini auction slated for December 19 in Dubai.
MI qualified for the playoffs earlier this year after finishing fourth on the points table. They got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator but were beaten by Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier.
Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the Mumbai Indians franchise. The overseas contingent of Tim David, Dewald Brevis, Jason Behrendorff, Cameron Green continue with Mumbai Indians. In the run up to the retention deadline, Mumbai Indians acquired Romario Shepherd via trade.
