“The Pink ODI has not only become a landmark fixture but a crucial platform in our commitment to drive breast cancer awareness. As we build up to the event it’s imperative for our partners and fans to know that their contributions are managed with the utmost transparency and dedication. We’re looking forward to another impactful year where the vibrant pink at DP World Wanderers signals our collective drive towards making a difference.,” Super Sports quoted Cricket South Africa’s Chief Marketing Officer Wanele Mngomezulu as saying.
India are currently in South Africa for a multi-format tour that got underway earlier this month with a T20I series. The three-match affair ended 1-1 after the opening contest was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain.
South Africa took a 1-0 lead by winning the second T20I before India drew level with an all-round show.
The ODI series got underway today in Johannesburg with India giving debut to Sai Sudharsan. A host of seniors are sitting out from the white-ball leg of the tour with the selectors trying out several youngsters and players on the fringes keeping in mind the next year’s T20I and the future.
The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli though will be back for the two-match Test series which will be the second of their ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle.
India had beaten West Indies 1-0 earlier this year to kickstart their campaign.
The second ODI of the series will be played on December 19 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
