Meta has updated the Facebook logo as a part of upgrading its ‘identity system.’ Even though the social media giant did not make any dramatic changes, people noticed it in a giffy. For those who still haven’t noticed it, the usual blue which has been used since the beginning is now darker. Also, there are a few changes in the lower case ‘f’. This change comes as the first phase of its “refreshed identity system.”

Explaining the change, Meta in a blogpost wrote, “Our intention was to create a refreshed design of the Facebook logo that was bolder, electric and everlasting. Each of the distinctive, new refinements drive greater harmony across the entire design as a key element of the app’s identity.” It further stated, “We’ve done this by incorporating a more confident expression of Facebook’s core blue color that is built to be more visually accessible in our app and provides stronger contrast for the “f” to stand apart.”
Many took to ‘X’ and shared about the change that they have noticed in the logo. “Facebook shows up today with a deeper, more vibrant tone of blue in its logo on app update, another step in a long list of attempts to get some long lost attention,” posted an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “Facebook logo be like: more blue.”

In other news, Meta has said that it will discontinue the “Facebook News” feature on its social media app in the UK, France and Germany. The changes will be made later this year. However, users will still be able to view links to news articles. Also, the European news publishers will continue to have access to their Facebook accounts and pages after the change is implemented in December.
