After ‘HIV’ Remark on Sanatana Dharma, DMK’s A Raja Calls Hinduism a 'Menace’ to India
This comes as Raja had earlier ignited political circles by saying that ‘Sanatana Dharma’ should be compared to diseases that carry social stigma like HIV and leprosy

Days after he likened ‘Santana Dharma’ to diseases like ‘HIV,’ DMK MP A Raja, has done it again, this time by labelling Hinduism a “menace to India and the world.”

In a purported video of the same, the DMK leader said, “India is the sources of the global malaise, which is spread through diving the society and the people on the lines of cast.”

“Some Indians settled abroad also promote caste divisions in the name of Hinduism. So, Hinduism is a menace not just for India but the entire world.”

This video clip was shared by BJP State President K Annamalai, in which he said “DMK MP A Raja calls Hindu Religion a menace to India & the world.”

“DMK is the principal reason for creating caste divide & hatred in TN, and the DMK MP has the audacity to blame Sanatana Dharma for the mess they made,” he wrote on X (formally Twitter).

This comes as Raja had earlier ignited political circles by saying that ‘Sanatana Dharma’ should be compared to diseases that carry social stigma like HIV and leprosy.

“Sanatana and Vishwakarma schemes are not that different. Udhayanidhi gently said that Santana Dharma should be eliminated like malaria and dengue,” he said.

Raja further said that these diseases don’t have a social stigma, and that others that have stigma — like HIV and leprosy — should be compared with the Sanatana Dharma.

“So, we need to see this as diseases ridden with social plights like HIV and leprosy,” he added.

This comes days after Udhayanidhi, who is the son of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin likened Sanatana Dharma to “coronavirus, malaria, fever caused by dengue virus and mosquitoes.”

Stalin also called against equality and social justice and it should be eradicated, adding that “such things should not be opposed, but destroyed.”

BJP Reacts

DMK leaders are speaking against Sanatan Dharma with the Congress’ “endorsement” to divert attention from the “misdeeds” of the MK Stalin-led government in Tamil Nadu and disrupt peace and harmony in the country, the BJP alleged on Wednesday.

Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, the BJP’s co-in-charge for Tamil Nadu, alleged that the DMK and the Congress are trying to build a “narrative” against the BJP in view of the party’s “growing” popularity in Tamil Nadu and recognition of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s work.
