But the question remains if his concept will be put into motion. Peter explains he has other commitments to look after before considering a prequel series.

“I do have an idea. But first, I need to do some other things. Second, it would need a unique set of circumstances to come together,” he said. The Crown creator also confirmed if the possibility of a prequel is to be explored, it will predate Elizabeth ll, and The Crown world “definitely be to go back in time.” Netflix chief Ted Sarandos chimed in to express his complete trust in Peter’s vision. “I have absolute faith in Peter. It focuses on the future of the British monarchy with Prince Charles (now King) and Olivia Williams’ Camilla Parker Bowles taking the next step in their relationship. In addition to this, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s college romance at the University of St. Andrews will also be covered.

Part 1 of The Crown’s season 6 will premiere on November 16, and the second part’s release will follow suit a month later on December 14.
