Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passed away early Friday morning, aged 99. She was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, on Wednesday after her health deteriorated. On this unfortunate event, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut took to social media to offer condolences.

Sharing a photo of PM Modi with his late mother, the actress wrote in Hindi, “May God give PM patience and peace in this difficult time. Om Shanti.”

The Kashmir Files actor Anupam Kher took to Twitter to pen a long note in Hindi. Roughly translated to English, it read, “Respected Prime Minister @narendramodi ji! Hearing about the demise of your Matashree #हीराबा ji, I am saddened as well as distraught. Your love and respect for her is evident in the world. No one will be able to fill her place in your life! But you are the son of Mother India! The blessings of every mother of the country are on you. My mother too! ????????”

Sonu Sood, on the other hand, left an encouraging note for PM Modi during these tough times. He wrote in Hindi, “Respected Modi ji, mother does not go anywhere, but many times she sits at the feet of God so that her son can do better for others. Mother was always with you and will be with you.”

Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn paid tributes as well. Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and wrote: “There is no greater sorrow than losing a mother. May god give you the strength to bear this sorrow @narendramodi ji. Om Shanti.”
