Marathi Actor Ravindra Berde Ravindra died on Wednesday morning after battling throat cancer for years. He was 78. The veteran actor had been undergoing treatment at Tata Hospital for the last few months. According to a report by ABP, the actor was discharged two days ago. On Wednesday morning, the actor breathed his last after suffering a heart attack at his Mumbai residence.
Berde worked in Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak: The Real Hero which was released in 2001. He was also part of Rohit Shetty’s Ajay Devgn starrer Singham. In the film, he essayed the role of Zamindar Chandrakant.
Ravindra Berde and his late brother, actor Laxmikant Berde, delivered several hit movies together.
Ravindra Berde had earlier suffered a heart attack during one of his plays in 1995 and was later diagnosed with cancer in 2011. However, that didn’t dampen his spirits and Berde continued to entertain the audience with his acting.
He started his career in theatre in 1965 and slowly transitioned to TV and films. During his illustrious career, he acted in over 300 Marathi films. He has also shared the screen space with actors like Ashok Saraf, Vijay Chavan, Mahesh Kothare, Viju Khote, Sudhir Joshi and Bharat Jadhav. His portrayal in the film Pacchadlela earned him considerable recognition in the industry and even made a place in the hearts of the audience. He has also worked in films, including Bakaal, Yeshwant, Hum Do Anjaane, Bhootachi Shala, Shripa, Shasan, Mandali Tumchyasathi Kay Pan and many more.
Ravindra Berde is survived by his wife, two children, daughter-in-law and grandkids. His fans have expressed grief on social media and have even offered condolences to the family.
