Lata Mangeshkar’s nephew Adinath Mangeshkar reached the newly-constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh today, on January 22. His wife Bharati Malvankar Mangeshkar accompanied him to witness the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the temple. Since January 16, preparations for the consecration event were already underway. After today’s inaugural celebration, the Ram Mandir will be made accessible to the general masses for “darshan”, asserted Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. In a media interaction, Adinath Mangeshkar revealed that apart from witnessing the “grand ceremony”, he will also visit Lata Mangeshkar’s Chowk at Ayodhya.

Speaking with ANI, Adinath Mangeshkar said, “Nothing can be a more precious moment than this. We are here to witness the grand ceremony. We will also go to see the Chowk in the name of our respectful Lata didi.” He added that the city of Ayodhya has made “a lot of progress”. With new hotels being built, Adinath assured that the place would soon turn out to be a bustling tourist attraction, bringing in many travellers. “ It is a golden opportunity for us to be part of this grand event,” he concluded his statement.

Apart from Adinath Mangeshkar and other dignitaries, many Bollywood celebrities have been invited to visit the Ram Mandir at its inaugural ceremony. Some of the notable invitees include Amitabh Bachchan-Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal, Madhuri Dixit-Shriram Madhav Nene, Kangana Ranaut, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Rajinikanth, and Dhanush.

Meanwhile, the city of Ayodhya has beefed up its security ahead of the temple consecration ceremony. From CCTV cameras, built with artificial intelligence (AI) and night vision devices, to anti-bomb squads, no stone has been left unturned for a smooth execution of the rituals and customs on the auspicious day. The temple has been lit up with colourful lights and tonnes of flowers.
