One of the viewers’ favourite on-screen Korean couple, Jung So-min and Jung Hae-in are all set to enchant audiences in the upcoming rom-com drama, Mom’s Friend’s Son. The news was confirmed on January 3, according to a report in Soompi. Previously, on December 13, reports suggested that Jung Hae-in is set to take on a leading role in tvN’s upcoming drama.

Responding to the news, Jung So-min’s agency, IEUM HASHTAG, told Soompi, “‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ is one of the projects that Jung So-min received an offer for. [The actress] is currently reviewing the offer.”
Scheduled to be helmed by director Yoo Je-won, known for the success of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and penned by the writer Shin Ha Eun, Mom’s Friend’s Son is set to deliver a delightful concoction of romance, comedy and life’s unexpected twists.
The plot revolves around Bae Seok Ryu, portrayed by Jung So-min, a successful project manager at a major global firm. Bae Seok Ryu is the epitome of the perfect daughter – honest, full of energy and a favourite among her parents. However, her seemingly idyllic life takes an unforeseen turn when she faces a sudden breakdown. Jung So-min’s portrayal is anticipated to bring depth and authenticity to this character as audiences witness her journey to reboot her life.
Adding to the excitement is Jung Hae-in, who has been confirmed to play Choi Seung Hyo, the male lead and Bae Seok Ryu’s mom’s friend’s son. As the head of the architecture atelier In, Choi Seung Hyo is not only a skilled architect but also possesses the charm of a handsome and perfect personality.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the project, Jung So-min was quoted by Soompi saying, “It’s an honour to meet a project that I relate to and makes my heart feel warm. I’m looking forward to it even more because I enjoyed watching the writer’s [other] projects. As my second project with the director based on trust, I will greet viewers with a good performance.”
