Bhuvan Bam Explains Why Tittu Mama Was An Apt Voice For New Takeshi’s Castle: 'My Biggest Concern...'
Bhuvan Bam gets candid about using Tittu Mama's voice for the new Takeshi's Castle commentary.

The Indian reboot of the iconic Japanese game-show Takeshi’s Castle just released and has been the talk of the town ever since its launch. The new version of this game show of eight episodes raised the bar in terms of levels of difficulty in games, adrenaline rush and excitement among the spectators. Adding extra fun and comedy in the show is content creator and actor, Bhuvan Bam. Bam’s alter ego – Tittu Mama walks us through the formula of this nostalgic game show after more than three decades.

Speaking about the writing and the dubbing process, Bhuvan Bam shared, “When I started working on the script, I thought that this was one crazy show, and who else was this crazy, character-wise from all the characters I play in BB Ki Vines? That’s when Tittu Mama came into the picture and as he is one of the most relatable characters to the audience, he automatically became a very apt choice to do the dubbing of it other than me as a person.”

He further added, “But my biggest concern for this was how will I introduce Tittu Mama to the audience who don’t know him or my work and have never seen my content? So my introduction to him and the way he talks was something I looked into and came up with the script accordingly.”

Earlier, commenting on his involvement in the iconic show, Bhuvan Bam said, “Since the original version of Takeshi’s Castle was on television, I have been an ardent fan of the concept, execution and the hilarity of the game show. It’s highly nostalgic for me to have grown up seeing the show and now voicing it, is genuinely a full circle moment. I don’t think there is anyone in my generation who hasn’t loved and enjoyed this madcap comedy. Being a part of this incredible game show is a privilege and an honour.”

“As an entertainer, my viewers have always appreciated the unique yet relatable characters that I’ve portrayed, and I am happy to bring a bit of my creative self as ‘Titu Mama’. I am hopeful that the younger generation will love this show as much as we did,” he added.

The eight-episode series will retain the eccentricity that people saw in the original version. Earlier, Jaaved Jaaferi was seen as a commentator on the show.

Takeshi’s Castle will have the voice over by actor and content creator, Bhuvan Bam’s alter ego – Tittu Mama and is now available to stream only on Prime Video.
