Why Did Badshah Put A Condition On Dharma Productions For Saturday Saturday?
Recalling the interesting anecdote about his song Saturday Saturday, Badshah shared that he asked Dharma Productions’ team to visit Chandigarh.

Rapper Badshah’s remarkable rise in the music industry speaks for itself. With a vast catalogue of hits, he has firmly established himself as a prominent singer, rapper and composer in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Badshah shared his approach to pursuing work opportunities, emphasising that talent should be the driving force behind success. He also reminisced about a significant career milestone when Dharma Productions approached him to secure the rights to his hit song Saturday Saturday.

Speaking with The Lallantop, Badshah said, “I don’t think one should reach out for work, people should approach you. Do your work so well that you never need to go to anybody for opportunities. Put everything you have into your work. Make it the best, leave no stone unturned.”

Badshah further recalled an interesting anecdote about the time he set a condition before selling his song Saturday Saturday to Dharma Productions. Instead of travelling to Mumbai himself, he asked the team to come to Chandigarh. The rapper shared that the director of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Shashank Khaitan and actor Varun Dhawan first heard the song at a club in Chandigarh and decided it would be perfect for their film. Before approaching him, the film’s team even attempted to create their own version of the song, as Badshah amusingly recounted.

Badshah continued, “Someone from Dharma reached out and said that they want the song. I said, ‘Cool, you can have it’. They said, ‘Okay, come to Mumbai’. And I said, ‘Suno, agar tumhe chahiye toh tum Chandigarh aao (Listen, if you want the song, you come to Chandigarh)’. And they actually came to Chandigarh. Of course, I went to Mumbai later.”

In the same interview, Badshah also revealed being offered acting roles in Karan Johar’s Lust Stories and Good Newwz. The particular roles were later bagged by Vicky Kaushal and Diljit Dosanjh respectively.

As for the collaboration between Karan Johar and Badshah is concerned, the duo united for multiple songs in films like Kapoor & Sons, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Good Newwz and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. That’s not all. Badshah also appeared as a guest on the filmmaker’s chat show Koffee with Karan.
