When Ramesh Sippy Made Headlines For Marrying An Actress 17 Years Younger

Ramesh Sippy is one of the most successful filmmakers in Bollywood with many hit films to his credit including Sholay and Shaan. The veteran director also remained in the headlines for a long time with his personal life. According to reports, while working on one of the serials, Ramesh Sippy met actress Kiran Juneja, who arrived on the sets for an audition. Reportedly, he was head over heels in love with the actress, and she also reciprocated his emotions. Thus, as per the reports, they struck a bond and after dating for 4 years, got married in 1986. Kiran Juneja is 17 years younger than Ramesh Sippy, but that didn’t become a hindrance in their wedding. He was an already married man at the time of his second wedding. The veteran filmmaker divorced his first wife Geeta with whom he has 3 children, son Rohan Sippy and daughters Sheena Sippy and Sonya Sippy. Ramesh Sippy and Kiran Juneja don’t have any kids of their own, but she considers all three as her children.

Rohan Sippy is a film producer-director. His daughter Sheena was married to Shashi Kapoor’s son, Kunal Kapoor until they divorced in 2004. Their son, Zahan Kapoor, is an actor.

After the wedding, Kiran Juneja played the characters of Pragyavathi and Veerawali in the hit television serial Buniyaad. Anita Kanwar, Leela Mishra and others also played prominent roles in this serial. Buniyaad received accolades from the audience for its performances, direction and script.

Ramesh Sippy has not directed any film for the past 4 years since his last release Shimla Mirchi streaming on Netflix. Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, Rakul Preet Singh and others also acted in this film. Shimla Mirch received mixed reviews from the audience. Ramesh Sippy is known for directing hit films like Andaz and Seeta Aur Geeta. None of his films could reciprocate the success of Sholay.

Kiran Juneja became one of the remarkable names in the films and the television industry with many hit projects to her credit. She has acted in Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande, Sumit Sambhal Lega etc.
