Popular Tamil TV actress Nandhini's husband, Karthikeyan, reportedly committed suicide on Monday.
In a shocking turn of events, Karthikeyan had consumed poison and left behind a suicide note alleging that his father-in-law was responsible.
The body, was however, found on Tuesday morning by a lodge employee in Virugambakkam when he peeped inside Karthikeyan's room suspecting something wrong as he had not come out for a long time.
Even though Karthikeyan has blamed his in-laws for the suicide, the police is investigating the matter.
In an interview to a Tamil publication, Nandhini has however dubbed the allegations made her husband as false and alleged that he was involved in corrupt business practices. When she confronted him, he threatened to commit suicide and that's the reason her parents took her home.
She further states that Karthikeyan was involved in an extra marital affair.
“Nobody, including my parents, knew about this incident so far. He had an affair with some other girl, who committed suicide. And the police had arrested him. But, I didn’t tell anyone. I told others that he had gone to Dubai. All the secrets that I had buried in my heart are now coming out because of him,” she said.
She further rued that she kept offering him money from her earnings without keeping anyone in loop.
“He was very upset as people were pressurising him to return his money. I used to give him pep talk time and again and even told him that we could be together again once he sorts out all the problems. I was even giving him money from my earnings without telling anyone.”
Nandhini, 32, rose to fame with her role of Myna in Saravanan Meenatchi and is one of the most popular comedians in the Tamil TV industry while her husband ran a gym in Chennai. The two of them got married after a brief love affair but soon troubles started brewing in their married life.
