It is reported that the actor is now charging Rs.2 crore for each film.

The recent grand ensemble film Kalki 2898 AD had a cast comprising actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone but one iconic actor who did not get top billing was the legendary Brahmanandam. Anyone who is into Telugu cinema would know that at one point, Brahmanandam appeared in more than half of the Telugu movies released in a year. He also forayed into Tamil cinema with the recently released Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. You will be amazed to know Brahmanandam holds the Guinness World Record for the most screen credits for a living actor, appearing in over 1000 films to date. Even though he plays supporting roles as comic relief, he earns more than many leading men in the Telugu industry,

Brahmanandam was born on February 1, 1956, in Palem village of Sattenapally, Chaganti, Andhra Pradesh. His father was a carpenter. During his childhood, Brahmanandam faced significant poverty and his family struggled to make ends meet. After earning his Master of Arts degree, Brahmanandam became a Telugu lecturer in Attili, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Alongside his teaching career, he was involved in theatre and performed as a mimicry artist. He debuted on television in 1985 with DD Telugu’s Pakapakalu which garnered positive feedback from viewers.

His performance in the show caught the attention of filmmaker Jandhyala and he landed his first film role in Aha Naa Pellanta. He soon became a staple comic relief in films and did not have to look back for the next three decades. It is reported that Brahmanandam is taking Rs.2 crores for each film. His wealth is estimated to be Rs.500 crores. This is more than stars like Rajinikanth (Rs 450 crore), Prabhas (Rs 237 crore), Allu Arjun (Rs 460 crore), Thalapathy Vijay (Rs 410 crore) and Jr NTR (Rs 450 crore).
