Taylor Swift is taking a breather from her blockbuster Eras Tour until October 18, but she’s not just resting — she’s on a mission to spread joy. The pop icon is diving into social services, donating food to various food banks while exploring the scenic wonders of the UK. One organisation even revealed that thanks to Swift’s kindness, they were able to procure a 1.5 articulated lorries’ worth of food, as reported by Pinkvilla.
Cardiff Foodbank CEO Rachel Biggs noted that while Taylor Swift’s donation has already been fully utilised, the demand for assistance from the charity continues to grow. She said, “A growing number of people need our support for the first time, and more and more people need to turn to us.” Adding that the charity was able to buy more food this year when compared to the last one, she also thanked the pop icon on behalf of Cardiff Foodbank, adding that the donation was “beyond [their] wildest dreams.”
The organisation, in its statement, continued, “That will make a huge difference,” but did not talk about the “generous” amount with Taylor Swift’s staff. Further, Ms Biggs added that Swift’s team had personally thanked everyone at Cardiff Foodbank for their contribution to the society.
While exploring the UK, Taylor Swift also dropped a post on Instagram. Comprising some pictures of her shows, the post also included Swift’s emotions as she expressed her love for Cardiff in particular. She explained, “Cardiff!” Playing in Wales for the first time was incredibly exhilarating, as I was able to take in the vast, vibrant, and lively crowd. I’ll always remember it.”
Fans have also been showering praises on Taylor Swift ever since they came to know that the hitmaker had been feeding the underprivileged while being busy with her back to back shows in the UK. ICYDW, Swift continued her tradition of donating food throughout her Eras Tour in Cardiff earlier in June.
Next, Taylor Swift will be performing at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, October 18. Then, she will head to three other North American cities for the remaining shows as a part of the tour.
