Actress Daisy Shah has been summoned by the Mumbai police to record her statement in connection with Tanushree Dutta's sexual harassment case. Dutta alleged that Nana Patekar physically and verbally abused her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss in 2008 while shooting for a special dance number for the movie. Dutta filed an FIR against Patekar at Mumbai's Oshiwara police station.
The notice mentioned that while the song was being shot on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss, Shah was present there. She was then working as an assistant choreographer under Ganesh Acharya, who recently sent Dutta a 12-page letter by his lawyer Padma Shelatkar, denying all allegations made by her. Dutta accused Acharya, film's director Rakesh Sarang and producer Samee Siddique of ganging up against her by witnessing everything mutely and not interfering.
"We will record statements of everyone present on the sets when the alleged incident took place. Shah has been asked to record her statement at the police station whenever she is comfortable, within a week or two," a senior officer confirmed to Mid-day.
Earlier, speaking to News18, Shah said, "I was just an assistant choreographer who knew nothing about what all was happening. I have nothing to say about it. My job over there was only to teach steps. I wasn’t the part of the internal conversation of what was happening and not happening. I was just like a random person who was shooting on that film.”
So far, two eyewitnesses in the matter—Janice Sequeira and Horn OK Pleassss assistant director Shyni Shetty-- have come forward and confirmed the veracity of Dutta’s claims.
