Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, the duo who captivated audiences as Jon Snow and Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, are reuniting for the upcoming horror film, The Dreadful. Though the film was announced earlier this year, filming hasn’t kicked off yet, but excitement is already brewing. In a recent interview with The Times, Sophie revealed that she played a major role in convincing the production team to cast Kit as the leading man. According to the actress, when the production team was looking for someone to play the leading man, she immediately insisted that Kit Harington was the perfect choice for the role. Set against the backdrop of the historical Wars of the Roses, fans can look forward to seeing them draped in regal robes on cliff tops in the movie, reminiscent of their previous role.
Sophie Turner said, “They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, ‘You can’t not have Kit.’ It’s set around the time of the Wars of the Roses, so we’ll probably be floating about in robes on cliff tops again.”
As per Deadline, “Written and to be directed by Natasha Kermani (Lucky, V/H/S/85), the film set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses follows Anne (Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen, who live a solitary, harsh life on the outskirts of society. But when a man (Harington) from their past returns, he will set off a sequence of events that become a turning point for Anne.”
After their adventures in Westeros, Sophie has taken on new challenges, featuring in the crime drama The Staircase and currently starring in the series, Joan. Meanwhile, Kit has captivated audiences with his role in Industry. Last year, author George R.R. Martin disclosed that Kit was working with HBO on a spinoff series centred around Jon Snow. However, this year, Kit revealed that the project has been shelved due to difficulties in crafting a compelling storyline.
Other than Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, more details about the cast and release date of The Dreadful, has been kept under wraps.
