Sanjay Leela Bhansali is gearing up to premiere his debut web series, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ on an OTT platform. The series is set to launch on May 1. In anticipation of its release, a lavish preview event was hosted in Mumbai last Wednesday. The event saw attendance from some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, including Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. Sonakshi Sinha took to social media to post several snapshots from the glamorous evening.
On Thursday, Sonakshi Sinha took to her Instagram handle and shared a bunch of pictures featuring Sanjay Leela Bhansali, her mother Poonam Sinha, the cast of Heermandi such as Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Taha Shah Badussha, and Fardeen Khan made a striking impression as they stylishly posed for the cameras. She wrote the caption, “What a MAGICAL night!! Too many emotions, too many people, too much love, too many memories all that came to life on screen yesterday at the grand premier of #HeeraMandi ❤️ Thank you Sanjay sir for making me your Fareedan…So honored to share this moment with my stellar co actors and the entire team that toiled day and night to create this magic!!!”
The event’s glamour was also heightened by the attendance of numerous celebrities, including Ananya Panday, Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, Shruti Haasan, Esha Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, and Patralekhaa. Among the male celebrities present were Vijay Varma, Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, Randeep Hooda, and Zayed Khan. The legendary actress Rekha looked radiant in a yellow saree, while the star couple Sussanne Khan and Arslan Goni coordinated in black. Newlyweds Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat also graced the event, celebrating their new union.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is set to stream on Netflix on May 1. It stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan and Adhyayan Suman also play pivotal roles. The historical drama series takes viewers to a time when courtesans served as monarchs. The series explores the cultural realities of the namesake district of Heera Mandi through the stories of courtesans and their patrons, set against the volatile backdrop of India’s Independence struggle in the 1940s.
