Karan Johar’s post for Alia Bhatt comes days after the director opened up about the first time when he felt like a father to the actress. Recalling the day when he roped in Alia to play the lead in Student Of The Year, Karan said, “Now, I am Yash and Roohi’s father, but the first time I experienced paternal love for someone was with Alia. We were in a vanity van, and we were doing a look test for Alia. She wasn’t sure if she would be in the film or even what the title was.”

“After the photo session when I went inside the van, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan was also there. We had given her a big cupcake. I told her she was in the film and I was directing it. Alia became very emotional and her first sentence was, ‘Can I eat this (the cupcake)?’ At that moment my maternal feelings came to the forefront,” added Karan Johar.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is set to be seen in Jigra, slated to release on October 11. The film, jointly produced by Karan Johar and Alia, also featured Vedang Raina in the lead role. Apart from the same, Alia also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in her kitty. She will also be sharing the screen space with Sharvari Wagh in the YRF Spy Universe’s, Alpha.
