Following the massive success of his big-screen spectacles like Bang Bang, War, Pathaan, and Fighter, director Siddharth Anand’s next project has been shrouded in anticipation. Speculations were rife about his next venture, with possibilities including Tiger v/s Pathaan, Pathaan 2, or Fighter 2. However, last week it was revealed that Anand’s next directorial will be a large-scale, standalone action film under his production banner, Marflix. Now, we have obtained further details about his ninth directorial outing.
A source close to the production house informed Pinkvilla that, “Siddharth Anand is working on a mega-budget two hero action spectacle, which he aims to take on floors in 2025. Siddharth is a big endorser of the action genre and he has the aim to exploring new formats in this space with his directorial. After brainstorming several ideas, he has locked a big-scale two-hero action film as his next directorial. He has been working on the script for a while now and is finally in the stage of proceeding to casting.”
The source further added that, Siddharth Anand’s vision is to unite two of Indian cinema’s most iconic superstars in a monumental film event, promising to be one of the most epic spectacles to ever hit the big screen. “It’s a new genre of action, and the execution for spectacle will surprise the cinema-going audience. Much like all his directorial, this one too will be a tentpole actioner, meant to celebrate the big screen medium as a collective cinema-going experience. It’s the newness of the genre that took him time to research and complete the script,” the source added.
Siddharth Anand’s last film Fighter, which marked the first on-screen pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, soared to remarkable heights, earning over 340 crore at the worldwide box office. The film revolved around top IAF aviators joining forces amidst looming danger to create the Air Dragons squadron. Fighter portrays their camaraderie, brotherhood, and the challenges they face both internally and externally. It also featured prominent actors such as Karan Singh Grover, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and others in significant roles.
Siddharth Anand’s production house, Marflix, has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects, including Jewel Thief starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, King featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, and Krrish 4 led by Hrithik Roshan. Additionally, Marflix has an untitled action drama in the works, directed by Milan Luthria, as well as a female-led action film and a biographical drama inspired by the life of spiritual leader Shri Shri Ravi Shankar. With such a diverse and impressive slate of films, fans can expect great things from Marflix.
