Janhvi Kapoor is excitedly preparing for a standout year in 2024, with several major projects lined up. Her upcoming ventures include her debut in the Telugu film industry alongside Jr NTR and Ram Charan. In Bollywood, the teaser for her latest Hindi movie, Ulajh, has recently been released.
The preview has been well-received by both fans and celebrities alike. Among them, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has praised the teaser on her Instagram story, where she wrote, “Outstanding this looks. More power to you @janhvikapoor.” In response, Janhvi Kapoor shared Samantha’s post on her Instagram story.
In the teaser, Janhvi appears to be delving into a matter concerning a technology tie-up for green hydrogen production using a hydrogen electrolyzer by a company in Nashik. The teaser shows her risking her life and getting involved in the issue, while Gulshan Devaiah’s monologue on loyalty and betrayal for the nation plays in the background.
Janhvi Kapoor’s rumoured boyfriend Shikha Pahariya also dropped his reaction to the teaser which went viral immediately. Taking to his Instagram stories, Shikhar shared the teaser and dropped clapping emojis.
Ulajh revolves around the life of Suhana, a young and privileged IFS officer who uncovers a grave personal plot against her. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Adil Hussain, Rajendra Gupta, and Jitendra Joshi.
Written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria with dialogue by Atika Chauhan, Ulajh is helmed by National Award-winning director Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Vinit Jain of Junglee Pictures. The thriller is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 5, 2024.
Earlier, Janhvi had opened up on her role in the film. In a statement, she had said, “When I was approached with the script of Ulajh, it instantly attracted me because as an actor, I am constantly looking for scripts that make me break out of my comfort zone and portraying a character based in the celebrated world of the Indian Foreign Services was just that. Just as the name of the film suggests, my character and the story, have so many layers, emotions, and parameters, which are challenging and exciting at the same time. I am thrilled for the audience to see me in this new role envisioned by Sudhanshu, who has such a fresh approach towards dealing with this genre.”
Meanwhile, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is gearing up for a notable return with the Indian adaptation of the Russo brothers’ spy action series Citadel, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. This series, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, will feature a prominent cast including Varun Dhawan alongside Samantha.
Set in the 1990s, this spy thriller drama will blend exciting action sequences with a compelling romantic plotline. The project is financed by Raj and DK through their company, D2R Films, and is set to premiere soon on Prime Video.
