Salman Khan Roped In For Ramesh Taurani's Race 4? Producer Says 'We Will Announce...'
Ramesh Taurani said that the film's script is ready and it will go on floors this year.

The thriller-franchise Race will be back with its fourth instalment, confirmed producer Ramesh Taurani. While the first two instalments were headlined by Saif Ali Khan, Race 3 featured Salman Khan in the lead. However, is Salman Khan returning to the Race franchise? Ramesh Taurani said that he cannot comment on that yet.

“The script is ready for the next ‘Race’ instalment, we will announce the casting of the film soon. The cast will be new. I can’t comment on whether Salman Khan will be part of it or not. It will go on floors by the end of the year. It’s not decided yet who will direct it,” Taurani told PTI.

Race featured Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu in prominent roles. The second instalment featured Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez as the leads. Both films were directed by Abbas-Mustan. Race 3 was directed by Remo D’Souza and was headlined by Salman Khan. Bobby Deol played the antagonist in the film.

Additionally, Taurani also confirmed the sequels of Bhoot Police and Soldier. “We will also make a sequel to ‘Bhoot Police’ and ‘Soldier’. The official announcement regarding the same will be made soon,” Taurani added.

Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s 1998 film Soldier was one of the year’s highest-grossing films. The action thriller was directed by Abbas-Mustan. Bhoot Police, which was released in 2021, featured Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor as the leads. The film was directed by Pavan Kirpalani.

Ramesh Taurani also confirmed a collaboration between Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. “We are doing an entertainer movie with a love story and great music with Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. It will go on floors soon,” said the producer. He also added that they are yet to finalise the film’s female lead.

The producer’s current venture is Ishq Vishk Rebound, starring Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grrewal. The film is the sequel of Shahid Kapoor starrer Ishq Vishk. However, it is not a continuation of the film or related to it in any way.

Speaking about sequels about common, Taurani said, “The trend of sequels started in 2009-2010 with ‘Race’ and ‘Dhoom’.” “People started making sequels from thereon. We believe one has to pay more attention to the script when you make a sequel because the original film has a brand value,” he added.
