Renukaswamy Murder Case: Keshavamurthy And 2 Other Accused Get Bail, Darshan Still In Jail
The bench comprising Justice Vishwajit Shetty has granted bail to Keshavamurthy.

Karnataka High Court has granted bail to Keshavamurthy and two others who were accused in the murder case of Renukaswamy. Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was also accused of the murder of Renukaswamy. Now, three accused out of the 17 people arrested have been granted bail.

The bench comprising Justice Vishwajit Shetty has granted bail to Keshavamurthy. Besides him, Karthik and Nikhil Naik have also been granted bail by the sessions. Notable accused personalities like Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pawan, Vinay, Pradosh, Nagaraj, and Laxman are still in jail.

Darshan’s involvement has brought significant attention to the case. Actor Darshan received a visit from his family at Ballari Central Prison last week. His mother Meena, sister Divya, and brother-in-law Manjunath arrived at the prison in the morning, around 11:30 am. Darshan left his cell to meet them in the visitors’ area. They spent about half an hour talking.

Sources reported that Darshan was visibly moved when he saw his mother after a considerable time; and despite his typically stern expression, he was seen smiling as he made his way back to his cell after the visit. Darshan was seen as particularly emotional when he talked to his mother. Reportedly, he hugged his mother and burst into tears.

It is reported that Darshan’s mother, who was moved to tears witnessing her son’s condition, comforted him during the visit. His elder sister was also emotional upon seeing his condition.

It was earlier reported that following a request from the actor, prison authorities provided him with a television, though it has access to only a few channels. Darshan is said to have asked for more amenities, but officials have reportedly stated that only what is permitted under the prison regulations would be allowed. The actor has been in judicial custody for more than 100 days, facing charges in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy.

Darshan was initially detained at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison before being transferred to Ballari Central Prison on August 29 amid a controversy. This arose after viral photos and videos surfaced, showing him drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette, and allegedly making a video call from inside the prison. As soon as the video went viral, the actor was shifted to Ballari jail.
