Poonam Pandey took to her social media to announce her decision to cancel the shoot.

Amid the ongoing Maldives-Lakshadweep row, Bollywood celebrities have been sharing their perspectives on the matter. The latest addition to this list is model Poonam Pandey, who has cancelled a shoot in the Maldives to express her support. Esteemed personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, and Kailash Kher have been encouraging the people to visit Lakshadweep during this controversy.

Poonam Pandey on Instagram announced her decision to cancel the Maldives shoot. Sharing a screenshot of a chat she had with the shoot team, Poonam wrote, “I love shooting in Maldives but I will never shoot in Maldives again. When I was scheduled to shoot my next shoot in Maldives, I told my team that I will not Fly if this shoot gets stuck in Maldives. Fortunately, they agreed and now hoping to shoot in Lakshadweep.”

Furthermore, Poonam Pandey, on X (formerly Twitter), tweeted that she “urgently needs a production controller from Lakshadweep or shooting location manager/guide.”

It all started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared scenic photos from his visit to Lakshadweep, leading some netizens to suggest it as a better tourism destination than the Maldives. As tensions rose, Maldivian politicians expressed their discontent, with three of them reportedly being suspended by their government. According to the MyGovIndia account on X, global searches for the union territory have been the highest in the last 20 years.
