'Nobody Can Dictate What I Should Do': Actress Nithya Menen On Marriage Plans
Last year, rumours went viral, claiming that Nithya Menen was set to wed a well-known Malayalam actor. She took to Instagram to debunk the speculation.

Actress Nithya Menen primarily works in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She is well-known for her powerful performances and has received several accolades, including a National Film Award, four Filmfare Awards South, two South Indian International Movie Awards, and two Nandi Awards. She began her career as a child artist in the French-Indian English film Hanuman (1998) and later appeared in popular films such as Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde, and Geetha Govindam, among others. Recently, however, the actress has been making headlines with rumours suggesting she is set to marry a Tamil star. While an official announcement regarding her marriage is expected soon, the identity of the star remains undisclosed.

Last year, similar rumours went viral, claiming that Nithya was set to wed a well-known Malayalam actor. She took to Instagram to debunk the speculation, sharing a video where she clarified that she was not getting married and that the story had been fabricated.

In an exclusive interview with News18, Nithya Menen revealed that she is under no pressure from her family to get married. She values her independence and prefers to live life on her own terms, free from societal expectations. She said, “I’m beyond that now, and I don’t think anyone can dictate what I should do. My parents have been incredibly supportive in that regard. They’ve granted me the precious gift of freedom, and I cannot imagine a life without it. They fully understand that.”

Nithya Menen’s upcoming film, Kadhalikka Neramillai, is currently in post-production. This Tamil romantic comedy is written and directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. The film features Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen in lead roles, alongside Yogi Babu, Vinay Rai, John Kokken and Lal.

Reports indicate that the film was primarily shot in Chennai, with production wrapping up in late May 2024. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, with cinematography by Gavemic U. Ary and editing by Lawrence Kishore.
