'My Daughter Thinks I Do Make-Believe': Priyanka Chopra On Balancing Work And Motherhood
In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra discussed being a working mother and experiencing mom guilt wherever she goes out to work.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter, Malti, in 2022. Since then, the duo have been seen as doting parents to the little munchkin. Time and again, the proud parents post glimpses of their girl on social media and share the struggles of parenthood. In a recent interview, the actress discussed being a working mother and experiencing mom guilt wherever she goes out to work. Interestingly, she also shared what her toddler thinks she does for a living.

In conversation with Quint Neon, Priyanka Chopra was asked how she balances her work and motherhood duties. The actress praised her own upbringing and stated that it has helped her a lot in taking care of Malti. She stated, “I was raised by a working mom and my mom’s sisters were working moms. Even the moms who are not working (hold a job) are working all day. Working women don’t get enough credit… you have to surround yourself with a village, you have to make sure that you find a supportive partner. I have so many people around my daughter, but I still feel guilty when I go to the set.”

Moreover, Priyanka shared that she takes Malti on set with her, which helps her understand the nature of her work. The actress shared about her childhood, when her mother would take her to the hospital. She mentioned that she used to spend time at the nursing station playing with them. Priyanka added that she believes this has helped her create an environment in which a parent may welcome their child into their everyday lives. Revealing what little Malti thinks about Priyanka’s work, the actress stated, “My daughter thinks I do make-believe for a living.”

Few days back, on an Instagram live session, the actress shared how her mother Madhu Chopra takes care of Malti when she is at work. She recalled that as a child, she was also with her grandma while her mother had to go to work.

On the professional front, the actress most recently starred in the romantic drama Love Again, alongside Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. Her next film, the action-comedy Heads of State, stars Idris Elba and John Cena. In addition, she will star in Frank E Flowers’ film, The Bluff. It will also feature Karl Urban.
