Earlier today, Preity Zinta also penned down a long note and demanded justice. The actress expressed anger and called the Kolkata rape and murder case “heartbreaking” and “disgusting”. Preity further mentioned that it is time to prioritize women’s safety and hoped for strict punishments for the accused.
“As a woman, I want to say I’m sorry to Nirbhaya, to Moumita and to every girl that has been wronged. I’m sorry I didn’t fight hard enough for you in the past. But not anymore! None of us are safe until all of us are safe,” a part of Preity’s statement read.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut also called the incident “horrible” and demanded a CBI probe in the case. “The murder of a trainee woman doctor at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata is horrible and horrific. The semi-nude body of the woman post-graduate trainee doctor was found inside the seminar hall on Friday morning. She was brutally murdered, and her body bore multiple injury marks. The preliminary autopsy report indicated sexual abuse before her murder. I hope the case is transferred to the CBI for a complete inquiry and the assaulter is punished harshly,” she wrote on her Instagram stories.
Prior to this, Alia Bhatt also expressed her outrage and wrote, “Another brutal rape. Another day of realisation that women are not safe, anywhere,” drawing a direct comparison to the Nirbhaya tragedy that shook India over a decade ago.
